Hello, my name is
Toria. I was born on September 13th in Washington, D.C. I am the proud
mother of 3 wonderful children. One son Clifton, and twin girls Caylyn
and Cayla.
I was first introduced
to skating at the tender age of 4, by my mother, whom by the way still
skates. I have been in love with the sport from the beginning. Like
most, I started skating at Kalorama, Alexandria, Crystals/Skate Palace
and now Seabrook. After about a ten year hiatus from skating to attend
school and raise my children, I finally gained enough courage to convince
myself to get back on the wood again without feeling like I was neglecting
my children. On a Wednesday night, in September of 2005, I found myself
back at Seabrook, a nervous wreck. I said to myself “Toria, go
ahead out there girl, but stay in the middle”. Once I got the
feel of the floor, I made my way to the outside and it was all over.
I thought to myself, “Wow girl, you’ve still got it”
and I have been back faithfully every Wednesday night since then. That’s
where I discovered and began to admire the “Butterflys”.
I don’t skate
for show. I skate because I love the sport, it eases my mind and rescues
me from the stress of everyday life. I consider skating “Me Time”.
for teaching
me, learning with me, growing with me, but most importantly, for embracing
me like only family can. I’m looking forward to flying with the
“Butterflys” for many, many years to come.
Be safe and Much
Much love ladies. —
